I do understand that Asheville’s airport is small and regional and that Charlotte/Douglas is big and international. But, how does Asheville Regional airport ever expect to be viable when their fare for the exact same flight is double ($400) the exact same flight going out of Charlotte ($200). I wouldn’t be fussy if it was $300 vs. $200. Charlotte/Douglas is a 2-1/2 hour drive from my house.
So, is paying $200 extra worth saving the 5 hours of roundtrip driving to Charlotte? I gotta decide what I am going to do. Grrrrrr.
Interesting. I often find the fare to Asheville from Seattle is less expensive than to Charlotte, Greenville and even Knoxville. I guess it depends on where you are going……..
