Peaches Rocks!

Zounds!

I saw Peaches at The Orange Peel and it’s taken a wee bit to recover. I knew that the show was gonna be wild going in … but I came away less shocked by tactics and more impressed by her pure showmanship. She was amazing … from crowd surfing to champagne shaking to blood spitting to multi-costume changing. Her backing band, Sweet Machine, rocked hard and matched up well with Peaches in terms of showmanship. I was so into it I actually took my shirt off when Peaches commanded us to.

Hopefully she’ll play Asheville again.

Also of note was M.E.N., the opening act. Fronted by JD Samson (of Le Tigre fame), M.E.N. performed on a great set of electronic based dance music. I wish they had played longer.

And what’s a live show without some eyecandy? I fell madly in lust with Sweet Machine‘s drummer, Mathias Brendel … handlebar moustache, fuzzy chest … and he’s German! HUBBA!
