Progress? Well, Maybe …

On the May 6th, Waynesville will get to vote on whether the town will sell liquor-by-the-drink. This has come up before and those pesky conservative Christians did a good job of getting the measure defeated. On the front of today’s local paper is a story about a group that is forming to oppose liquor-by-the-drink here in town. Their main reason? Mixed drinks sales means more drunk drivers on the road! What an utter bunch of hooey that is. Most beer drinkers know that you can go in with friends on pitchers and get way loaded for minimal cash. Mixed drinks cost more than beer and probably contains minimal amounts of alcohol. How often have you gotten a really strong mixed drink in a restaurant? Very rarely I would imagine. And what sucks about this the most is that I live just outside the city limits and probably won’t get to vote my two cents worth. Oh, well.

Wish I were back there………….you could change your voting address to mine, and there would be TWO sure votes in favor of it!! Ask your cousin if you can move in with her for a few weeks!

I wish someone would bring up driving while talking on a cell phone. They cause accidents too! but we haven’t heard about that.
