Hi all! So, how was your weekend? Mine was pretty nice. Ten of my friends (and myself, of course) trekked off to Fairy Stone State Park in the great ole state of Virginia. We were a little disappointed as we were booked into two of the cedar-sided cabins which are newer and thus a little nicer than the more rustic log cabins … but what can ya do. Friday night everyone was social with beer, wine and a roaring fire in the fireplace. Saturday was a relaxing “do nothing day” with breakfast, books and puzzles and relaxing out in the sun (it was near 60 degrees and sunny). I managed to finish Stephen King’s “Cell” and got started on Chuck Palahniuk’s “Survivor.” Michael, Preston and Michelle romped off for a hike late in the afternoon, but I was just too damn lazy. I did get out and walk a little around the cabin area. Got some late afternoon pictures of the trees and lake. It was quiet and peaceful. Saturday night we had a tasty turkey dinner and discussed politics which put me to sleep. Politics are a dull topic when everyone in the room feels the same way. We really needed a “Republican” or two to have ganged up on. Sunday was breakfast, cleaning the cabin, packing and traveling back to the ole homestead. In the car on the way back I finally came up with a “plot” for the porno film I want to script (that’s a post for another time) and a great name for a “no plot as of now” porno. Now to write the suckers (pun intended). Yup.
Cabin Trip Weekend for 2006 is now history.

I see you missed me……………..
Yowza, Chas! You outdid yourself with photos this time. Thanks for getting ’em up so quickly. And I agree: From now on, we go for LOG cabins– not these hotelesque places in the woods. Roughing it is the way to go (no double entendre intended).
Mom:
Yes. We did.
Michael:
I don’t know about “outdid yourself” regarding the photos but agree that “rustic” next time would be much better than “cinderblock.”
Yup. Yup.
