Finally! 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will release Alfred Hitchock’s “Lifeboat: Special Edition” on October 18th. One of the last major Hitchcock films to be released onto DVD, this legendary survival classic arrives with a restored fullscreen transfer and a Dolby Digital Mono track. Bonuses include an audio commentary with USC film professor Drew Casper, “The Making of Lifeboat” documentary, a still gallery and the original theatrical trailer. Retail is $19.98.

Just Annonced! “High Tension” will hit video on October 11th … though no word yet on whether the film will be the un-cut or theatrical release version. No word on any extras either. It will be interesting to see if there are any extras for the Region 1 release. The PAL Region 2 disc has commentary from director Alexandre Aja and actress Cecile De France plus a makeup special effects featurette.~

    did you know that Talulh Bankhead did not wear panties during the fioming of this movie? Apparently, a Ladies Home Journal (or some other women’s magazine from the time) reporter first noticed this as Ms Bankhead was climbing up a ladder to get into the boat for one of the scenes. Of course, this just made Hitchcock love her even more!
