Several Days Later

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. It’s been a busy week and I haven’t had much to say.

I did get two sweet birthday gifts over the weekend thanks to Scott and Franke …
Scott’s 2-Part Gift (Warning: It’s definitely NSFW!)
Franke’s Gift (Mmmmm. Brains!)

I heart Zombies, Brains and Leather Toys!

In other news:
“Cabaret” started it’s final five performances last night … all of which are sold out! It’s been great having the show sell really well but I, for one, am ready to put this one to bed. It’s been a year of thinking and planning, casting, seven weeks of rehearsals, four weekends of performances.

28 Weeks Later” is coming from Netflix and that makes me excited. It’s gotten a lot of good buzz.

Echo Bridge’s new anamorphic widescreen release of “Prom Night” is now mine. That makes me super-duper excited!!!
Prom Night!

And don’t forget that “The Complete Peanuts: 1965-1966” is now in stores for your purchasing pleasure!

Hump Day Update

Whoo. The week is half done and there’s a three day weekend on the horizon.

Rawk!

I do have some major projects I need to work on this weekend though. The dvd sets of “Rome” and general laziness have kept me from getting stuff done.

Rome on HBO
I have been really diggin’ on “Rome.” But I will agree with Scott that the second season doesn’t quite live up to the first … though it’s still entertaining will all the blood, guts, sex and treachery.

If You Liked School, You'll Love Work
Coming out next week will be a new collection of short stories from Irvine Welsh entitled “If You Liked School, You’ll Love Work.” How hot is it that two Irvine Welsh books have hit the states this year? Very hot.

“Cabaret” is currently homeless. “Jake’s Women” opens this coming weekend and we are now out of the building. Last night and tonight we are at MusicWorks!. Tomorrow we get to go sweat ourselves silly in The Barn. Everyone is getting really excited as our date to take over the main auditorium looms closer and closer. Here are some photos from a music rehearsal last week (no captions ’cause I am lazy) …

Hump Day Update

Are We Done Yet?

Nope. I have not finished “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” yet as some folks have been asking. I’ll admit that I am a slow reader. Plus this last weekend was crazy with filming the 48 Hour Film Project. Plus I have been distracted by the “Absolute Garbage” CD and DVD, “The Host,” “Zodiac” and “The Monster Squad.” Plus there have been various dinner plans and such. But, I am getting there … I promise.

Humpity, Hump Day

Oooooooooh. If only it were.

Yeah. I was gonna go on about how desperately I need a shag right now … but that’s probably the Irvine Welsh book talking.

Nothing new really.

I have a stack of books that I am slowly working my way through. I am almost finished with “The Bedroom Secrets of the Master Chefs.” I have the first of the Southern Vampire Mysteries, “Dead Until Dark.” I am resisting the urge to buy “Rant,” the new Chuck Palahniuk novel … and, of course, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” drops into stores next week.

Dr. Phibes and I are pumped up for this fall … ’cause another Best Buy “Sci-Fi Collection” Exclusive will see “The Deadly Mantis” finally making its way to dvd. AND … MGM will be releasing a “Vincent Price: MGM Scream Legends Collection” (Volume One of Many? … Please, Oh, Please, Oh, Please!) on September 11th!!! I am sure that I will be talking/linking more about both these sets as their release dates draw closer.

Too much going on the rest of the week/weekend to really be able to keep up with my dvd viewing … though I am really looking forward to seeing “Vengeance is Mine.”

That is all.

Thirteen Moons by Charles Frazier
I have been talking a walk with Will Copper through the mountains of North Carolina. “Thirteen Moons” has been really good so far and is much different in tone than “Cold Mountain.” I must confess that I have quite a crush on Will Copper at this point. There are so many things that make him such an attractive and interesting character. With about 150 pages to go, I hope to finish it up this weekend and then move on to “Lisey’s Story” by Stephen King.
